Leone pops for Puttinu Cares! (in Gozo)

As showers of complements pour in, the Leone Band proudly announces that the repeat performance of the 3rd edition of Leone Goes Pop will be held in Gozo aid of Puttinu Cares.
Puttinu Cares is a voluntary foundation which helps families of children suffering from cancer. It aims to advocate on behalf of the affected children and their families by representing their needs and offer moral and financial support amongst other things. This noble cause has already been applauded by a good number of supporters and third parties. It is indeed quite fitting that the Leone Band does not only give out music to the community for free, but becomes philanthropic in its deeds and causes. The public learns to appreciate the musical product of a number of amateur or semi-professional musicians – a product that is the fruit of long hours of rehearsals and preparations which come at a cost. However, it is a cost which the providers are ready and willing to give it voluntarily, only to see the financial returns being directed at such a noble cause.
Thus this performance will once again be free of charge with seating provided on a first-come-first-served basis. Donations will be collected during the event by volunteers from the Puttinu Cares Foundation. The public is encouraged to attend and be generous in his considerations.
Performance is a ‘repeat’ as far as the music repertoire is concerned. Spectacle, gimmicks, humour and all, will be redirected and rephrased within a more summery context to reflect the time and the venue i.e. a mini-harbour and beach. So with the same certainty and peace of mind with which the Leone Band assured the public of a thorough night of entertainment, once again the organising Society pledges another unforgettable experience.
Songs by Eric Clapton, Country and Western, The Beatles, Eros Ramazzotti, Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame, Elton John, Michael Jackson and The Village People, together with the songs Unchained Melody, New York, One Moment in Time and Strangers in the Night. One can now expect Mario Caruana and Nadine Axisa together with the Leone Band under the vibrant direction of conductor Colin Attard. Yet, the delivery of it all will be something unique again
